Am I covered if I ride a scooter, a motorbike or drive a car?
Yes: if you have an accident with a vehicle rented abroad, your medical expenses and repatriation are covered under every contract. Note that damage to the rental vehicle and third-party liability are never covered: take out the rental company's additional insurance. Depending on the contract, motorbikes over 125cc require a valid licence and non-sporting use.
Is repatriation included in my insurance?
Yes, medical repatriation is included in all our contracts. In case of illness, accident or a medical situation requiring an early return, the assistance service organises and covers your repatriation, under the conditions set out in the contract.
Do I have to pay upfront at the doctor or the hospital?
Contact the assistance service as soon as possible (the number is on your assistance card, received at sign-up): it organises the coverage of your care, directly with the hospital if you are hospitalised. Keep invoices, prescriptions and medical reports: they will be required for any reimbursement.
Is there an emergency service available 24/7?
Yes, anywhere in the world. The assistance team supports you in case of a medical problem, organises repatriation if needed and directs you to the right solutions. All the useful numbers are on your assistance card, your certificate and the general conditions.
Is Yupwego travel insurance valid for a visa application?
Yes. As soon as you sign up, you receive an insurance certificate stating the cover and period of validity, ready to attach to your visa application. Our cover meets standard consular requirements (medical expenses, hospitalisation, repatriation). Tell us the country in question if in doubt, and we will confirm.
