Lyon, December 15, 2022 – Lyon-based startup Yupwego announces the signing of a framework agreement with insurance broker VERSPIEREN RHÔNE-ALPES. Yupwego offers personalized travel insurance with rates and coverages that can be adjusted according to destination, age and length of stay. Thanks to this partnership, the startup, which until now has targeted private individuals, is now addressing the BtoB target by catering for professional travel (business trips, incentives, teambuilding, works councils, etc.).

Yupwego expands its range of insurance products and attacks the BtoB market.

Yupwego’s historical proximity to the independent insurance brokerage group VERSPIEREN RHÔNE-ALPES has enabled the Lyon-based startup to expand its range of services by offering a new category of insurance products: those dedicated to professionals. In other words, broker VERSPIEREN RHÔNE-ALPES will be offering Yupwego to professional customers.

Until now, the startup had only provided travel services for individuals, with minimum stays of one week. It is now able to provide very short stays for professionals. “This cooperation with a major startup group marks a strategic turning point in Yupwego’s development,” enthuses Pierre Bourret, Founder and CEO of Yupwego. “This partnership will enable us to attack the BtoB market and reach over 120,000 potential new customers very quickly,” he explains, adding that the stakes are high for the startup, which is constantly seeking new opportunities to extend its range of insurance products and diversify its target market.
In addition to this agreement, Yupwego will now be able to offer insurance to expatriates, increasing the age range of its policyholders to 75 (previously limited to 65).
The startup is also announcing the forthcoming launch of a “group” product (group insurance contract).
Finally, Yupwego now offers trip cancellation insurance.

The Lyon-based insurtech company is continuing to develop, and to shake up the sector with its innovative, flexible and transparent offerings. “The Insurtech sector is in the midst of disruption, and the travel insurance sector has not yet been affected by digitalization,” analyzes Pierre Bourret, referring to the way traditional players operate. “It’s essential to shake up these age-old fundamentals to embrace the values and aspirations of new consumers,” he concludes.
